The federal authorities has described the kidnapping of practice passengers at Tom Ikimi Practice Station, Igueben in Edo, as despicable and totally barbaric.
In a press release, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Henshaw Ogubike, additionally assured that efforts had been ongoing to rescue the kidnap victims.
“The Nigeria Police is on the path of the criminals and have mobilised with a view to defending the lives and property of the remaining passengers.
“The federal government is saddened by this disagreeable growth and assures of its immediate response to the ugly state of affairs.

Some suspected herdsmen allegedly armed with AK 47 rifles attacked the practice station at Igueben on Saturday and kidnapped some passengers ready to board the practice to Warri.
The Nigeria Railway Company (NRC) earlier introduced the shutdown of operations on the station.
