BRT fares revert to 100% price – LAMATA

Lagos MetropolitanArea Transport Authority (LAMATA) has introduced that transport fare for all Lagos State government-run industrial automobiles will revert to a 100% price from April 1, 2023.

This was disclosed on LAMATA’s official Twitter deal with.

“…From Saturday, April 1, 2023, bus fare of regulated buses Bus Fast Transit (BRT), normal and FLM shall revert to 100% price,” LAMATA tweeted.

On February 8, 2023, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, had introduced a 50 % slash within the transport fare of all Lagos State government-run automobiles.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the measures was put in place to cushion the impact of the gasoline disaster and money scarcity within the state following the judiciary pronouncement on the Central Financial institution of Nigeria’s new notes change deadline.

“Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 accepted a 50 % slash in bus fare following the money crunch introduced by the current foreign money swap. Following the Supreme courtroom and Federal authorities pronouncements on the usage of outdated notes alongside the brand new naira notes and return of stability to the syste, the 50 % is hereby discountined.

“Consequently, bus fares returns to pre-50 % slash price efficient Saturday, 1st of April 2023,” LAMATA stated.
