Our correspondent gathered that frantic efforts initially made by the police to cease the combat proved abortive till tear gasoline was launched.
It was additional gathered that the police locked the church, dismissed the members, and took among the elders to the station for interrogation.
A church member, talking anonymously to our correspondent, expressed displeasure over the battle, saying that there had been a rift among the many church elders in regards to the determination to separate from their headquarters in the USA.
The member added that the battle arose from the church headquarters legalizing practices which can be overseas to Nigeria’s tradition.
The member stated, “Our headquarters is in America they usually have legalised some practices that aren’t a part of our tradition. Some elders had been of the view that we must always pull out, and provides the church one other identify. However one other set of elders kicked in opposition to the transfer. This created a faction within the church. At some extent, they needed to go to courtroom, however I can’t say why they didn’t find yourself going.

When contacted, the FCT command police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident.
She added that the Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, had invited the church elders to his workplace on Monday.
Adeh stated, “The CP has invited all of the church elders to come back to the command by 10 am tomorrow.“
