BMG announces a move from its current global headquarters in Berlin to the top floor of the stunning Lumina building, also in Berlin, in early 2027.
BMG has announced it will move its global headquarters to the top floor of Berlin’s iconic Lumina building, formerly Galeries Lafayette, in early 2027. The new headquarters will be located just two blocks from BMG’s current Berlin offices, maintaining its anchor in the heart of the city.
Lumina is renowned for its modern, distinctive glass facade, featuring significant glass cones that create a bright, open atmosphere filled with natural light. The building is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation by real estate firm Tishman Speyer, with whom BMG signed a lease agreement.
“Moving our headquarters to Lumina marks a significant milestone for BMG,” said BMG CEO Thomas Coesfeld. “This iconic Berlin building provides a prestigious, next-generation workspace that truly reflects our ways of working as a global music company with a strong commitment to Berlin. Lumina will foster an environment where our employees can thrive, boosting creativity and collaboration.”
The renovation is focused on preserving the character of the Lumina building’s original Jean Nouvel design while introducing a new use concept. Upon completion, it will offer modern, sustainable, and well-curated workspaces.
Amenities available to tenants will include a large rooftop featuring a garden area and panoramic views, a spacious bicycle garage with changing facilities, and dedicated event spaces. The building is also targeting several certifications for environmental sustainability (LEED), occupant well-being (WELL), digital connectivity (WiredScore), and its transportation concept (Good Mobility).
“We warmly welcome BMG to Lumina,” said Florian Reiff, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer. “This project exemplifies our commitment to creating dynamic ecosystems that offer thoughtful retail along with modern, sustainable, and well-curated workspaces in prime, well-connected locations—environments that also attract top talent.”
Construction of Lumina is due for completion in the first quarter of 2027, ahead of BMG’s move.
