As for the visitors, making real history back in May as they booked a Serie A return, the mood in Pisa’s camp should be at a continued high. Last seen over the weekend claiming a frantic 3-2 friendly victory away at domestic rivals Empoli, the Nerazzurri have rightfully received a string of plaudits and they couldn’t have asked for better summer preparations. Signing off the 2024/25 campaign with a 2-1 victory against Cremonese, Alberto Gilardino’s side have now won all of their last four straight outings by an aggregate score of 11-3. Likewise, the Tuscany-based outfit have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine straight outings – a run that stems all the way back to a 2-1 loss against Modena on April 4th. Excited by their free-scoring performances in the final third, Pisa should be excited by a trip to Leverkusen on Tuesday evening.
