Nov. 15 (UPI) — President Joe Biden on Wednesday introduced his intent to fill spots on two federal appeals courts together with a candidate who could be the primary Muslim American to steer a U.S. Circuit Courtroom.
Biden nominated Adeel A. Mangi, a non-public apply accomplice, for the third Circuit Courtroom of Appeals, the White House announced.
If confirmed, Mangi could be the first Muslim American judge to serve on a federal appeals courtroom.
Mangi beforehand served on the board of administrators of the Muslim Bar Affiliation of New York, the Authorized Assist Society of New York, Muslims for Progressive Values and as an ally board member of the Nationwide LGBT Bar Affiliation.
