Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman recently issued a statement about his time at Atalanta, issuing an official transfer request…

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has addressed growing speculation surrounding Ademola Lookman’s potential move to Inter Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Italian football executive confirmed that the final decision remains in the club’s hands, despite renewed talks between both Serie A sides.

This comes on the heels of a recent statement released by the Super Eagles attacker, in which he claimed he had been unfairly treated by the club.

Percassi, replying to this, disclosed that Lookman had expressed a desire to leave last summer after a €20 million offer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, the Bergamo-based club reportedly promised to consider his sale in the current transfer window under two key conditions. That the move must be to a top European club, and the winger would not join another Italian side out of respect for Atalanta’s faith in him.

“Lookman? This is a good opportunity to clarify what happened. Last year, following a €20 million offer from PSG, the player asked us to let him leave.

Atalanta, being a credible club, promised that we could consider selling him in this transfer window, based on two conditions that he himself asked of us: first, that he would only leave for a top European club, and second, that he would never wear a shirt in Italy that was not Atalanta’s — both out of respect for what he has done for us and for what he has received from the club.

Today, the situation is very different, as you all know. In any case, the club always carefully evaluates the timing and value of its players — but, as always, it is Atalanta who has the final say.” he said as quoted by Ital Press.

Lookman Agrees Personal Terms With Inter

The comments follow reports that Inter Milan and Atalanta have reopened negotiations with optimism, while Lookman has already agreed on personal terms with the Nerazzurri.

The Nigerian international is said to be holding the club to their word and pushing for a move to San Siro.

However, the statement by Percassi hints that the Bergamo outfit will not be pressured into a sale unless their conditions are met.
