The surge in demand for Labour Party nomination forms continued as several aspirants seeking to contest the 2027 general elections gathered at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The influx marks a sustained interest in elective offices across various regions.
Among those who purchased forms were former Ondo State first lady Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is vying for the Imo East Senatorial District seat, and former House of Representatives member Hassan Mamman Barguwa, seeking the Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency seat in Adamawa State.
Other aspirants include Dennis Chibuzor Oshai for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State, Eric Edward for the Hong State Constituency, and Mohammed Hayatu Atiku for the Uba/Gaya State Constituency.

Hassan Mamman Barguwa commended the modalities established by the party, describing the exercise as seamless. He expressed confidence in the party’s renewed fortunes and its growing strength across Adamawa State and the northeast.
As of the time of this report, dozens of aspirants remained at the National Secretariat to secure their documentation. The party continues to process applications as the scramble for elective positions intensifies ahead of the 2027 cycle.
