Attraction Courtroom Permits Obi To Serve Petition On Tinubu

The Labour Get together’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi has been granted permission to serve his petition difficult the 25 February presidential election on Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi is opposing the victory of Tinubu who was declared the President-Elect by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).

Earlier, Obi’s lawyer, Ikechukwu Ezechukwu (SAN), in an exparte utility, requested the appellate courtroom to grant Obi and the Labour Get together go away to serve the petition on Tinubu and the Vice President-Elect, Kashim Shettima, by way of substituted means.

Ezechukwu said that it’s essential to serve the courtroom filings by way of “substituted means” on Tinubu and Shettima owing to heightened safety safety across the president-elect and vice president-elect.

The lawyer urged the courtroom to allow Obi to serve the courtroom paperwork on Tinubu and Shettima by way of the workplace of the authorized adviser of the APC.

The petition turned crucial on account of the declaration and return of Messrs Tinubu and Shettima because the president-elect and vice president-elect. The petitioners mentioned, “the safety hooked up to and round them has considerably modified; with the consequence that there’s a heavy restriction of entry to them.”

Attraction courtroom accedes Obi’s request

In a ruling on the exparte utility, a three-member panel of the Courtroom of Attraction, Abuja, led by Haruna Tsammani, granted Obi’s request.

The courtroom instructed that the petition be served on Tinubu and Shettima “by delivering…or pasting the petition No:CA/PEPC/03/2023 and all different processes filed within the petition at both the workplace of the Nationwide Authorized Adviser of the” APC or…with another officer of the APC “at its Nationwide Secretariat at No.40 Blantyre Road, Off Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse 2, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”

Within the ex parte utility, Obi famous that the bailiff of the Courtroom of Attraction made “unsuccessful makes an attempt to serve the petition personally on” Messrs Tinubu and Shettima.
