Akeredolu: Ondo declares 3-day mourning

The brand new Ondo State Governor, Fortunate Aiyedatiwa, has declared three days of mourning for the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who handed away within the early hours of Wednesday.

He declared three days of mourning within the state and ordered that the nationwide flag in all institutions within the state ought to fly at half-mast.

The Minister of Inside, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has mourned the demise of the previous governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Tunji-Ojo, in an announcement made accessible to journalists on Wednesday in Akure by his Particular Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alao Babatunde, described the dying of Akeredolu as a colossal loss to the state and nation at massive.

“Immediately, we bid farewell to a rare particular person, a beacon of braveness, admired for his unwavering patriotism and selflessness.

“He traversed this earth as a real exemplar of astute management, embodying the essence of a real chief. It is a colossal loss to Ondo State and the nation.

“I mourn the lack of a voice of conscience, a person who stood steadfastly in defence of his folks and nation, even within the face of overwhelming challenges.

“Whereas his departure brings immense sorrow, we discover consolation within the indelible legacies he has left behind as a noble gentleman and a devoted statesman. Could God grant him everlasting peace and supply solace to his household throughout this tough time,” he added.
