The Dangote Refinery has postponed its deliberate begin date for supplying petrol inside Nigeria, which was anticipated to start in mid-August 2024. Initially, Aliko Dangote, the top of the Dangote Group, had introduced that the refinery would begin supplying petrol between August 10-12, 2024.
Nonetheless, the date has been pushed again from July to August, and no official purpose has been given but.
Sources recommend that the delay is because of issues with getting sufficient crude oil for the refinery, which wants 650,000 barrels per day to function absolutely.
This delay occurred amid a disagreement between the Dangote Group and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Fee (NUPRC) over whether or not the Dangote Refinery acquired the promised 26 million barrels of crude oil from January to June 2024. Whereas the NUPRC says it delivered the oil, the Dangote Group denies getting it.
