Abia Meeting passes incapacity invoice into legislation

The Abia Home of Meeting on Wednesday handed the ‘Discrimination towards Individuals with Disabilities Invoice’ into legislation.

The speaker of the parliament, Chinedum Orji, whereas asserting the invoice’s passage through the plenary, mentioned the legislation can be cited as ‘The Abia State Fee for Disabled Individuals Legislation’.

Mr Orji mentioned the state’s legislators had been dedicated to selling people-oriented payments.

He introduced that the invoice, upon being assented to by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, must be deemed to have come into drive on August 31.

The sponsor of the invoice, deputy majority chief Paul Taribo, described it as a landmark invoice that will go a good distance in putting the future of individuals with disabilities of their arms.

Mr Taribo, representing Ukwa East, added, “I’m assured that it’s going to quickly be assented to by the governor and applied as a way to give individuals with disabilities a way of belonging.”

The Centre for Residents with Disabilities (CCD) govt director David Anyaele described the passage of the invoice as a robust demonstration by the lawmakers that every one lives are valuable, particularly the lives of residents with disabilities.
