Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged lawmakers-elect to prioritise the soundness of Nigeria whereas electing the presiding officers of the tenth Nationwide Meeting on Tuesday.

The tenth Senate President and the Speaker of the Home of Consultant will emerge on Tuesday when the subsequent Meeting will probably be inaugurated.

The race has been so intense, with aspirants insisting on contesting in opposition to the APC preffered candidates.

All the foremost contenders have intensified campaigns and claimed to have the backing of majority of lawmakers.

Talking on the valedictory session on Saturday which marks the tip of the ninth Senate, Shettima appealed to the lawmakers-elect to contemplate the unity and stability of the nation far above their private curiosity.

“The steadiness of this nation is superior to the soundness of our pocket. Bear in mind this on Tuesday,” the vp advised the lawmakers.
