The Public Complaints Fee (PCC) says it has commenced investigations into the complaints by enrollees beneath the Nationwide Well being Insurance coverage Authority (NHIA) attributable to an ‘avalanche of complaints’ towards healthcare suppliers.

 The city corridor was attended by stakeholders together with the representatives of NHIA, Lagos State Well being Administration Company, medical insurance practitioners and members of the general public who stormed the city corridor with a number of complaints concerning the NHIA.

 The vast majority of the stakeholders who’re enrollees on the assembly decried the poor companies provided by Well being Administration Organisations (HMOs) and their affiliated hospitals.

 Deputy Secretary Common of the Affiliation of Senior Civil Servants of nigeria, Igbokwe Chukwuma Igbokwe, stated the idea of producing code for sufferers earlier than being attended to within the hospitals must be jettisoned.



 He urged the NHIA to not be afraid in sanctioning defaulting HMOs and hospitals as prescribed within the newly amended NHIA Act.

 Lagos State Coordinator of NHIA, Mrs Rita Chukwu, stated the authority anticipated the enrollees to be handled with dignity and respect with out discrimination, advising them to be free to open and report defaulting HMOs and hospitals.

 However defending the HMOs, Mrs Maria Ayo of HCI Healthcare Restricted stated HMOs would proceed to function with transparency and supply strong advantages packages to the enrollees.
