He acknowledged that the 24-year-old suspect, a local of Ebonyi, resident at Ogidi in Idemili North Native Authorities Space of Anambra State, had beenarraigned and remanded at Enugu Custodial Centre.
“The suspect and the deceased had travelled from Ogidi, Anambra State to Amori on April 1 to go to a local physician. “Within the night time, they left the native physician’s home for an unknown vacation spot.
“A search was carried out, however they weren’t discovered till the next morning, when police arrested the suspect at Obe neighborhood in the identical council space whereas trying to flee and return to Ogidi,’’ he acknowledged.
Ndukwe added that the suspect confessed to strangling the sufferer and burying the corpse in a shallow grave within the bush from the place it was exhumed. He acknowledged additionally that the corpse had been deposited within the mortuary preparatory to post-mortem.
