One other individual has been killed in a renewed cult conflict between rival cult gangs in Awkuzu/Lumbumber Road, Mile 1, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was gathered that the killing adopted the battle for supremacy and territorial management by suspected factions of the D12 and BS of Deygbam cult teams.
The most recent killing which occurred on Sunday evening, April 23, comes just a few days after an analogous conflict led to the demise of 1 Asari, alongside Ekwe/Ikwerre street, Mile 3, Diobu.
It was gathered that residents scampered for security as a result of ear-splitting sound of weapons, and lots of remained indoors so as to not be hit by a stray bullet.
Spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident on Monday April 24, mentioned the killing, which was cult-related, was one too many.
“The Command is conscious. I believe it’s nonetheless associated to the battle of supremacy by these cult teams. We’ve commenced investigation into the incident to make sure that the perpetrators are apprehended and meant to face the regulation.” the PPRO added.
