Seven burnt to loss of life, 14 injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway accident

No fewer than seven individuals had been burnt to loss of life whereas 14 others sustained various levels of accidents in a lone accident round OPIC on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.

Mrs Florence Okpe, the Public Schooling Officer, Federal Street Security Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.

Okpe defined that the incident occurred at 10:45 am on Sunday.

The FRSC spokesperson stated that the accident was attributable to extreme dashing and brake failure which led to lack of management, saying that the car hit the street divider, somersaulted and went up in flames.

She acknowledged that 22 individuals had been concerned within the accident which comprised of seven males, eight ladies, 4 male youngsters and three feminine youngsters.

Okpe added that 14 folks had been injured – 4 males, 5 ladies, two male youngsters and three feminine youngsters.

The FRSC public training officer stated that the seven individuals burnt to loss of life ere two males, three ladies and two youngsters.

“The car concerned within the accident had the registration quantity BDG 993 YG, a Mazda bus,” she stated.

Okpe defined that the injured had been taken to Lagos State Accident Emergency Middle, Ojota, whereas the deceased had been deposited at Olabisi Onabajo College Educating Hospital (OOUTH) Morgue, Sagamu.

She commiserated with the households of the victims whereas additionally advising motorists to shun pace and at all times have a routine car test for good upkeep and substitute of any defect.
