Ramadan: Hisbah shuts beer parlours, bans prostitution in Jigawa

Jigawa State Hisbah Corps has ordered the fast closure of all beer parlours and prostitution spots through the month of Ramadan.

The state’s Hisbah commandant, Ibrahim Dahiru, said this on Tuesday in an unique interview with the DAILY POST.

He stated the transfer is a part of the corps’ efforts to stem social vices throughout Ramadan.

Dahiru defined that the Hisbah corps has carried out sensitisation for business intercourse employees and alcohol sellers.

In accordance with him: “We have now gone spherical to such areas throughout the state and warned the perpetrators of the offences to give up their illegitimate companies throughout [this] the holy month of Ramadan or depart the state.”

Whereas the corps has not obtained any report of locations the place such vices are happening, the Hisbah commandant, nonetheless, declared that operatives would embark on basic patrol to arrest those that ignored the order.
