Herdsmen Storm College In Oyo, Injure College students, Academics

Unknown individuals suspected to be herdsmen, on Thursday morning, allegedly invaded one of many public secondary colleges in Oyo State, injuring college students and lecturers.

It was gathered that the herders invaded the Neighborhood Grammar College, Alaropo Nla within the Oriire Native Authorities Space of the state.

The herdsmen, in response to an eyewitness account, numbering over twenty, allegedly invaded the college in Oyo with their cattle and injured a few of the college students and lecturers.

A few of the college students and their lecturers, amongst whom are Mr Paul Olabode, have been inflicted with sword and machete cuts, whereas many others have been left with damaged legs and palms.

The supply disclosed that the college had simply completed morning devotion and college students have been making ready to cool down of their lecture rooms to proceed their second-term examination when the herdsmen invaded the college farm with their cows grazing mindlessly on crops.

Efforts made by the scholars and the lecturers to drive away the herdsmen have been met with brutal resistance.



The college principal, Mrs Grace Alamu, who confirmed the incident stated that the assault had been reported to the police.

“I’m on my strategy to the college. Policemen are coming to the college this morning,” she stated.
