The Defence Headquarters on Thursday mentioned no fewer than 201 kidnapped Nigerians have been rescued by troops, whereas 1,506 terrorists surrendered to the army throughout numerous operations within the final two weeks.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Musa Danmadami, mentioned the abductees have been rescued throughout clearance operations carried out on terrorists’ hideouts in several places in Borno and Kaduna states.

Danmadami added that the troops of Operation Whirlstroke neutralised 14 terrorists, arrested 12 terrorist logistics suppliers, and rescued 16 kidnapped civilians.
He added that in the course of the operations “a complete of 1,506 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists and members of their households, comprising 154 grownup males, 514 grownup females, and 838 youngsters, surrendered to their troops at a unique location throughout the theatre of operation.”
