Namibia Makes THIRD Oil DISCOVERY

Namibia’s state-owned oil firm NAMCOR has made a 3rd oil discovery with companions Shell (SHEL.L) and QatarEnergy within the Jonker-1X deepwater exploration effectively, within the Orange Basin offshore southern Namibia, it mentioned on Monday.

New discoveries might make Namibia, the southern neighbour of OPEC member Angola, one other oil producer alongside the African Atlantic coast.

“We’re delighted to announce this third oil discovery after the success of the Graff-1X and Venus-1X discoveries by Shell and TotalEnergies (TTEF.PA) in 2022,” Immanuel Mulunga, managing director of NAMCOR, mentioned in an announcement.
