Feb. 4 (UPI) — An owl that escaped from the Central Park Zoo after his exhibit was vandalized has been on the unfastened ever since as park rangers and even cops have been mobilized to seek for the hen of prey.
Flaco, a Eurasian eagle owl, went lacking from his exhibit round 8:30 p.m. on Thursday after the chrome steel mesh of the enclosure was lower, the Central Park Zoo said in a statement Friday.
“A staff was mobilized to seek for the hen. Residents and police noticed the owl on the sidewalk on Fifth Avenue however it flew off,” zoo officers mentioned.
The workplace of New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams shared a photo of officers with the NYPD standing guard at an space of the sidewalk cordoned of with police tape as Flaco checked out bystanders.
