Afrigather Justice Olalekan Oresanya of an Ikeja Excessive Courtroom has awarded N5million damages towards a singer, Ikuforijimi Abdulrahman, a.okay.a Oxlade, over a leaked intercourse tape with a girl on social media app, Snapchat, Management has reported.
In a judgement delivered on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Justice Oresanya described the motion of the singer, in a secret recording an specific intercourse with a girl and thereafter leaking it on-line as “despicable, horrendous, distasteful and classless.”
The intercourse tape of the singer had surfaced on-line in February 2022, with out the data and consent of the girl concerned within the video.

The leaked video sparked public outrage, and compelled Oxlade to tender an apology to his followers and to the girl within the video.
However, the girl, Blessing, had filed a swimsuit earlier than the Courtroom on March 15, 2022 searching for N20million damages and a declaration that the singer’s act of recording his specific sexual acts with out her data and consent amounted to flagrant contravention of enabling legal guidelines and a gross violation of her elementary rights to dignity, privateness and freedom from discrimination assured beneath Sections 34 and 37 of the 1999 Structure (as amended); and Articles 5 of the African Constitution on Human and Folks’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement), Act, CAP A9, LFN, 2004.
