Afrigather Some suspected political thugs have tried to kill the Osun West senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr Amidu Tadese in Ikire neighborhood, headquarters of Irewole Native Authorities Space of Osun State on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
The assault by the suspected political thugs occurred at Olosa Oko space in Ikire when the marketing campaign practice of APC moved to Ward 9 of the neighborhood.
A high safety supply stated political thugs numbering about 30 invaded the venue of the marketing campaign and began to shoot sporadically into the air.
“They fired a number of gun photographs on the autos of APC on the venue. They have been in search of the candidate of APC, in addition they shot the jeep that they suspected the Tadese was in. It was a really dastardly assault, about 18 autos have been broken. After the incident on the marketing campaign floor, reprisal assault began taking place locally and it claimed a life. A member of the Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP) was killed and beheaded.”
The senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Tadese, after escaping the incident condemned the assault on members of his celebration throughout his marketing campaign in Ikire.
Narrating his ordeal, he stated, “the incident occurred round 5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 24. Supporters of our celebration had mounted cover and assembled at Ward 9, Ikire, when assault was launched on us. The assault was led by the Osun west senatorial candidate of PDP, Lere Oyewumi.
“He instructed his thugs to shoot at me, he arrived on the venue by means of Naira & Kobo space. My escape from the scene was divine as a result of the automotive I used to be inside was shot severally.”
In the meantime, the Osun west PDP senatorial candidate, Lere Oyewumi has denied the allegations.
He defined that, “APC members who’re doing thier marketing campaign attacked our members who’re placing on face-cap of our celebration in Ikire. They injured a number of individuals and even killed considered one of our members. This was what infuriated a few of the members to answer them in annoyance. Lots of our members are at the moment in hospital. They’re liable for the assault.”
