Dec. 8 (UPI) — The Atlanta Falcons will bench veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota and begin rookie Desmond Ridder after they return from their Week 14 bye.
Sources told NFL Network, The Athletic and ESPN concerning the transfer Thursday morning. Ridder was a third-round decide within the 2022 NFL Draft. He has but to look in a regular-season recreation.
Mariota, 29, accomplished 61.3% of his passes for two,219 yards, 15 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 13 begins this season for the Falcons. The previous Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback additionally led the Falcons to a 5-8 file to begin the season.
