Apple employees in Oklahoma vote for firm’s second U.S. union retailer

Staff at an Apple retailer in Oklahoma Metropolis voted on Friday to hitch a union, marking the second unionized Apple retailer within the U.S.

The vote is a defeat for Apple, which has opposed unionization efforts across the nation. It is a win for Communications Staff of America, which now represents the employees at an Apple retailer after separate unionization efforts at shops in Georgia and New York Metropolis stalled.

The tally was 56 votes in favor and 32 opposed. Roughly 94 staff have been eligible to hitch CWA. Voting occurred earlier this week.

“The Penn Sq. Apple retail employees are an incredible addition to our rising labor motion, and we’re thrilled to welcome them as CWA members,” CWA Secretary-Treasurer Sara Steffens mentioned in a press release.
