Tunisia: Geothermal Early Greens Manufacturing in Gabes Estimated At 30 Thousand Tonnes #AfricaClimateCrisis

Tunis/Tunisia — The edges irrigated beneath greenhouse by geothermal water within the governorate of Gabes supposed for the cultivation of early greens reached throughout this agricultural season 153 ha, whose manufacturing was estimated at 29,933 thousand tonnes, based on a doc revealed by the native authority for agricultural improvement.

The exports of early geothermal cultivated within the localities of El Hamma and west El Hamma stood at 19,908 tonnes within the present season, towards 21,501 tonnes within the 2020/2021 season, down 7.4%, as a result of suspension of exports to Russia since March 2022, based on the doc, a duplicate of which was acquired by TAP.

Concerning the agricultural season 2022/2023, the agricultural departments undertaking the cultivation of greater than 155 ha of early geothermal greens with an estimated manufacturing of 30 thousand tonnes, 22 thousand tonnes of which might be exported.
