Self-proclaimed Burkina Faso chief Traore urges supporters to halt assaults on French

The army captain who claims to have taken energy from Burkina Faso’s interim president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba held a parade within the capital Ouagadougou on Sunday.

However in a TV message after assaults on the French embassy, supporters of Captain Ibrahim Traore urged folks to cease acts of “violence and vandalism” towards France.

The junior officers had earlier accused Damiba of getting hidden at a army base of former colonial energy France to plot a “counteroffensive,” costs that he and France denied.

In a tv message, Captain Kiswendsida Farouk Azaria Sorgho, a member of the junta claiming to have taken energy stated: “We want to inform the inhabitants that the state of affairs is underneath management and that issues are progressively returning to order. 

“So, we urge you to freely go about your small business and to chorus from any acts of violence and vandalism which may mar the efforts made for the reason that evening of September 30, 2022, particularly people who is perhaps perpetrated towards the French embassy or the French army base right here in Kamboinsin.”

On Saturday Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, stated he had no plans to surrender energy and urged the officers to “come to their senses”

The coup has been extensively condemned.  A spokesman for UN Secretary Common Antonio Guterres stated he “strongly condemns any try and seize energy by the drive of arms and calls on all actors to chorus from violence and search dialogue.

“Burkina Faso wants peace, stability and unity to battle terrorist teams and legal networks working in elements of the nation,” the assertion added.

The coup has additionally been condemned by the US, the African Union, European Union and the regional grouping ECOWAS.
