The Senior Workers Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Workers Union of Training and Associated Institutions on Friday extended their warning strike by two weeks.

On March 27, non-academic staff began a two-week warning strike over the Federal Executive’s failure to accept their demands.

However, the strike used to be extended through a circular signed by SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim, and NASU Sleek Secretary, Peters Adeyemi and despatched to NASU and SSANU branch chairmen in universities and inter-university centres, captioned “Re: Graduation of two-week warning strike.”

The circular reads in fraction, “Deriving from the failure of the Federal Executive to act positively on the continuing warning strike, JAC hereby directs participants to proceed with the warning strike for one more two weeks, hoping that at some level of the length the executive will be ready to address these points.

“However, if the snort misfortune persists, participants of NASU and SSANU will be adequately educated in regards to the following line of action earlier than the expiration of the extra two weeks.”
