The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), Kano Repeat, on Tuesday acknowledged the agency has taken custody of 48 victims of human trafficking.

Abdullahi Babale, the Zonal Coordinator of the issue, in an interview in Kano on Tuesday, acknowledged the victims had been allegedly on their technique to Europe.

In line with him, the Nigeria Immigration Carrier, Jigawa Repeat, in collaboration with Nigerien police in Niger Republic, rescued and handed the victims over to NAPTIP.

He acknowledged the victims, who’re between the ages of 14 and 30, consisted of 36 Nigerians from Anambra, Benue, Edo, Kogi, Osun, Ondo and Rivers, and 12 Ghanaians.

The zonal coordinator acknowledged that preliminary investigations printed that every individual the victims, who had been undergoing counselling in a safe haven on the time of the arrest, had been heading to Europe.
