Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 13-14)

Welcome to our latest ‘What Are You Playing’ discussion! With another weekend upon us, we’re starting to think about what games we might play over the next few days – and yes, those Christmas backlog plans are also creeping up!

Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:

Ben Kerry, Staff Writer

This week of Xbox Game Pass drops hasn’t really delivered anything to my tastes, so I’m now starting to think about tackling some of my backlog; playing some of the games I missed earlier in the year.

Fraser had good things to say about Keeper recently so that’s something I’m keen to get stuck into soon, and looking back to earlier in the year, games like Avowed and DOOM: The Dark Ages also drifted by me as well. There’s just too much to play, folks, but I’m hoping to tackle some of the 2025 Xbox games I missed over the next few days and weeks as Christmas season approaches.

Have a nice weekend, PXers!

Fraser Gilbert, Editor

I am exhausted after all the Game Awards madness this week! The only game that’s on my must-play list for the weekend is Despelote, which is an amazing indie title that’s crept into my Game of the Year picks. I’m planning to highlight it on Pure Xbox as soon as I’m finished – it’s a game that deserves more attention.

Beyond that, I’ll probably check out the new release of Thank Goodness You’re Here! on either my Xbox Series X or ROG Xbox Ally, as I’ve heard great things about that one from the Nintendo Life crew. The rest of the time I’ll probably just be trying to catch up on sleep… they could at least make The Game Awards a little earlier for us folk in the UK!

Have a great weekend, everyone.

What are you playing over the weekend? Talk to us about your gaming plans down below.

Ben Kerry

Ben is a News Writer at Pure Xbox, and is a fan of action, racing and straight-up shootin’ in any Xbox game he can get his hands on. When he’s not clutching an Xbox controller like his life depends on it, Ben spends his time listening to music that’s far too old for him, watching football on the telly and probably eating somewhere.
