Don’t let the rising heat fool you – another wet and cloudy day is predicted for KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and the North West on Friday, 5 December.

The South African Weather Service predicts another dull and doomy start to the first weekend of the month.

KWAZULU-NATAL

In KZN, you can expect morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool but warm in places in the north. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, but scattered in the west.

DURBAN

In the province’s largest city, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 18°C and a high of 29°C.

NORTH WEST

Over to the country’s Platinum Province, it will be cloudy in the morning with fog patches in the east. Otherwise, Friday will be partly cloudy and warm to hot. Isolated showers and thundershowers are also expected, but they will be scattered in the south-west.

MAHIKENG

In Mahikeng, it will be partly cloudy, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. The temperatures range from 17°C to 28°C.

FREE STATE

Partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected in South Africa’s second-smallest province, with scattered showers, but isolated in the south-west.

BLOEMFONTEIN

In the judicial capital, it will be partly cloudy, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. The temperature will reach a minimum of 15°C and a maximum of 28°C.

SAFETY FIRST AS WET WEATHER PERSISTS

If you’re in KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, or the North West, be sure to carry an umbrella if you are going out.

If you are on the roads this Friday, maintain a safe following distance, ensure your wiper blades are working correctly, and turn on your headlights.
