Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday night, Barwell will travel to a struggling Stourbridge in midweek.

Watching their FA Cup qualifying adventure come to an end on October 4th as they slumped to another 3-2 loss against Antsy Nomads, Stourbridge have unsurprisingly shown a string of defensive issues. Suffering consecutive 3-1 defeats against Stamford and Real Bedford on either side of opening November, Wednesday’s hosts have already shipped 34 goals so far this season.
As for the visitors, despite missing out on what they had billed as a potential opportunity over the weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate against Royston, Barwell are enjoying what has been a recent turn in fortunes. Storming their way to a stellar 5-2 romp at home against Stratford earlier in the month, the Canaries have come skyrocketing away from the drop zone. Opening Wednesday’s showdown holding a commanding 10-point buffer over the relegation spots, Jimmy Ginnelly’s men have lost just a pair of their previous nine Southern League appearances and they should be smelling a potential opportunity when they travel to the Midlands here. It should also be highlighted, Barwell have registered seven points from their last three battles outside of Leicestershire. However, with six of their previous seven matchups away from Kirkby Road finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome in midweek.
