President Bola Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, signaling a fresh push to strengthen political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

Governor Uzodimma, who also serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, will take on a central role in rallying support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, explained that Uzodimma will serve not only as Ambassador but also as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.

In this new role, Uzodimma is expected to work closely with APC leaders and governors to promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes, achievements, and milestones since 2023. The goal is to ensure harmony, inclusiveness, and effective coordination across all levels of the party. Other APC governors will also take on similar ambassadorial roles, reinforcing the message of “Renewed Hope” nationwide.

The administration highlights several achievements under Tinubu’s leadership so far. Inflation has eased for seven consecutive months, settling at 16.05 percent in October, while the exchange rate has stabilized. Nigeria’s foreign reserves have risen to over $46 billion from $32 billion, with the net reserves inherited in 2023 standing at just $4 billion.

The government has also attracted increasing foreign direct investment and portfolio inflows, boosted the oil and gas sector, and diversified the economy by tapping into solid minerals.

Social programs have seen progress too, with over 700,000 students benefiting from the government’s liberal educational loan policy, and Nigerian citizens able to obtain travel passports in under a week.

President Tinubu, in his message to the Renewed Hope Ambassador, urged Governor Uzodimma to ensure Nigerians understand and appreciate these achievements, reinforcing confidence in the country’s economic direction.

This appointment marks the beginning of a more strategic push by the Tinubu administration to mobilise political support, build awareness of its accomplishments, and set the stage for a strong presence ahead of 2027.
