Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of actor Odira Nwobu in South Africa. The news, confirmed by movie director Arthur Scoot in an exclusive chat with Legit.ng, has left fans and colleagues in shock.

Actor and producer Stanley Ontop shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page, revealing that he received a call informing him of Odira’s passing. According to Ontop, the actor died after struggling with high blood pressure.

Odira had gone out for a night outing and tragically passed away the following morning after returning home.

Fans of the late actor were stunned, many expressing disbelief. Some recalled that Odira had posted on social media just a few days before his death, leaving many questions unanswered. Others expressed concern for his family, especially his mother, wondering how she would cope with the devastating loss.

This is not the first time fans feared for Odira’s life. A few months ago, he survived a near-fatal car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan road. Video footage of the crash circulated online, showing the wreckage and raising worries about his condition.

Thankfully, he had recovered from that incident, making his sudden death all the more shocking.

Odira Nwobu’s passing is a huge loss for Nollywood. Fans, colleagues, and the entire Nigerian movie industry are mourning the talented actor, remembering him for his contributions to film and his inspiring resilience in the face of previous challenges.
