2025 TCS New York City Marathon | Live Race Updates

NEW YORK (WABC) — Every first Sunday in November, more than 50,000 people from around the world, including elite runners, celebrities, and amateurs alike, lace up for the TCS New York City Marathon.

Sunday marks the 54th running of the race.

Thousands of spectators will also come out along the 26.2-mile course through the five boroughs to cheer them to the finish line.

The race starts at 8:00 a.m. ET with the professional men’s wheelchair division, followed by the women’s wheelchair division at 8:02 a.m. ET.

Elite runners begin later, with professional women starting at 8:35 a.m., followed by professional men at 9:05 a.m., and the general race waves having staggered starts, starting around 9:10 a.m.

The wheelchair division will begin crossing the finish line around 9:30 a.m., followed by the professional women at approximately 11:00 a.m., and the professional men at 11:15 a.m.

The final runners will cross the finish line after 8:00 p.m.

The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon takes place on Sunday, November 2. Coverage on Channel 7 and wherever you stream ABC 7 New York begins with pre-race coverage, Marathon Sunday, at 7:00 a.m. on November 2. Live coverage of Sunday’s marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. only on Channel 7 and ESPN2.

Elite women enter the final stretch

It’s neck-and-neck between 3 runners as the professional women enter the final stage of the race. Sheila Chepkirui, Sharon Lokedi, and Hellen Obiri hold the front with Fiona O’Keeffe 38 seconds behind them.

Professional men reach halfway mark

The elite men have reached the halfway mark with 20 runners within two seconds of each other. Yudai Fukda, Sondre Nordstad Moen, Alexander Mutiso, Hillary Bor, Benson Kipruto, and Patrick Dever are essentially tied for the lead.

Pro women update

The pro women’s race is still tight, but the lead pack is thinning.

Hellen OIbiri, Sheila Chepkirui, and 2022 winner Sharon Lokedi lead the way at the 15.5-mile mark.

Susannah Scaroni wins her third pro women’s wheelchair race

Susannah Scaroni won the professional women’s wheelchair race.

She is a 3-time TCS NYC Marathon champion.

Scaroni finished in a time of 1:42:10.
