The Renewed Hope Housing Programme is part of the Federal Government’s plan to make homeownership easier and more affordable for Nigerians.

Managed by the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the programme provides one-, two-, and three-bedroom semi-detached bungalows at uniform prices nationwide.

If you are a civil servant, a low- or middle-income earner, a private-sector worker, or even a Nigerian in the diaspora, you can apply. Here’s how to do it step by step.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to www.renewedhopehomes.fmhud.gov.ng. This is the only approved portal for applications. Avoid third-party links or social media adverts asking for money or personal details.

Step 2: Create an Account

Click on “Apply Now” or “Get Started.” Use a valid email address and phone number to register. You’ll receive a verification link in your email—click it to activate your account.

Step 3: Complete Your Profile

After logging in, fill in your personal details such as your name, date of birth, employment status, income level, and contact information. You’ll also need to provide your Bank Verification Number (BVN), bank name, and account number.

Step 4: Select Your House Type

Choose the housing unit that suits your needs and budget:

  • One-bedroom bungalow – ₦8.5 million
  • Two-bedroom bungalow – ₦11.5 million
  • Three-bedroom bungalow – ₦12.5 million

These prices are the same across all states, so applicants have equal opportunities regardless of location.

Step 5: Choose a Payment Option

There are flexible payment plans to make the homes affordable:

  • Outright payment if you can pay at once
  • Mortgage plan through approved lenders
  • Rent-to-own scheme, where you pay while living in the house
  • Installment plan, allowing gradual payment

Pick the option that matches your financial situation.

Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Scan and upload clear copies of your:

  • National ID card or passport
  • Proof of income (payslips or bank statements)
  • Passport photograph
  • Proof of employment or business registration
  • Tax or pension records, if available

For Nigerians in the diaspora, include proof of income and a valid Nigerian identification number.

Step 7: Submit and Track Your Application

Review your information carefully before submitting. Once submitted, you can track your application status through your dashboard. Notifications will be sent via email or SMS when your application is reviewed or approved.

Step 8: Respond Quickly if You’re Selected

Successful applicants will receive an offer letter with details of the housing unit, payment plan, and next steps. Read the letter carefully, sign it, and make the first payment as instructed.
