The Yoruba Youth Council (YYC), has called on traditional rulers across Yorubaland to put aside differences and work together for the progress and development of the region.
Ajibode Abd’kabir, the Council’s spokesman in a statement hailed the historic visit of Oba Babatunde Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, to the Bodija residence of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan-Designate but said there should be “friendlier relations and unalloyed unity”among traditional rulers in the interest of peace, growth, and prosperity for all in the Yorubaland.
The Council described the Ooni’s visit as “a moment of great historical significance and a powerful symbol of Yoruba unity”.

“It further noted that the homage paid by the Oonirisa was especially remarkable as it coincided with the sacred Olojo Festival. Despite his tight royal schedule, Ooni Ogunwusi considered it important to honour the Olubadan-Designate, knowing he might not be present during the official coronation on September 26, 2025.
YYC under the leadership of Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, congratulated Oba Ladoja on his forthcoming coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, while also felicitating Jubril Dotun Sanusi,its National Patron ahead of his December installation as Okanlomo Oodua in Ile Ife.
The Yoruba Youth Council prayed that the reign of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan will usher in peace, prosperity, and enduring progress for Ibadanland and Yorubaland at large.
“Similarly, the Council extended warm felicitations to its National Patron and Bada Olubadan-Designate, Jubril Dotun Sanusi, ahead of his official installation as the Okanlomo Oodua in December 2025, as announced by the Ooni of Ife.
“These two historic milestones,” the statement concluded, “are not just ceremonies of crowns, but testimonies of continuity, culture, and the unbroken spirit of Yorubaland. Indeed, a new dawn is upon Ibadanland and the Yoruba nation.”
“In the same spirit, the Council, on behalf of Yoruba youths worldwide, also felicitated with the Ooni of Ife on the commencement of the 2025 edition of the Olojo Festival in Ile Ife.
