YouTube star “IShowSpeed” has gone viral after meeting his “secret” younger sister for the first time during a livestreamed video.

Newsweek reached out to IShowSpeed via email for comment.

Why It Matters

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is a creator with more than 43 million subscribers on YouTube. Rolling Stone recently ranked him as the most influential creator of 2025. His content often involves him streaming, attending football events, playing games, and interacting with his followers.

Speed is currently on a tour of the United States, which he began on August 28. This tour will see him traveling and streaming for 35 days, regularly sharing content from the stream onto his YouTube channel. This tour features the popular creator MrBeast and follows a similar content tour that he undertook across Europe.

What To Know

On September 7, Speed held the 11th day of his ongoing Speed Does America livestream from Detroit, Michigan.

During this stream, Speed visited his family home and was introduced by his father to an individual, who turned out to be his sister.

Speed, who appears surprised and emotional during the viral moment, said, “My dad never told me that I had a…my dad never told me about you. Well, it’s nice to meet you, sister. Who’s your mom? I mean, like, hey, where is my dad at? Where’s my dad at? My dad never told me…yeah, my dad never told me that I had a secret sister. Like, what’s going on?”

The secret sister then responds, “Here I am, in flesh and blood. Nice to meet you, bro! We got so many questions. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean…something like that. Something like that. It was always like a spiritual connection. You feel me?”

Speed confronts his father about the “secret” sister: “You ain’t tell me that you had another daughter! You ain’t tell me about that, man! They just keep popping up, man.”

His father responded, “Daddy was getting busy back in the day. You know? In the early 2000s. You know? What’s up, chat?”

The video of the stream, which runs for nearly 12 hours, has been viewed 2.1 million times.

A clip of the moment the two meet has been viewed over 18 million times on X. Many viewers questioned why the two were just meeting for the first time, but the exact reasons and details behind this weren’t revealed.
