Super Eagles and Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface is closing in on a move to Italian side AC MIlan, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Rossonerri have agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old striker, with a loan move plus option to buy agreement in place with Leverkusen, all subject to a medical success.

However, it appears Boniface’s move to Italy has raised questions and could now be in doubt upon further checks. The Nigerian striker arrived in Milan yesterday in a bid to complete his move to Italy.

Previous injuries cast doubts over Boniface move

The former Union Saint-Gilloise striker has suffered two groin injuries in the past two seasons in Germany. These injuries have kept him out of action for a while.

Additionally, he’s torn his cruciate ligament twice in his budding career, and any club would be careful of that.

As per Gazzetta. It, Boniface underwent three rounds of physical tests yesterday, the last one with his trusted orthopedic surgeon, who was brought back from vacation, but the tests weren’t enough, and final results will be announced today.

The verdict was postponed as it should have been out yesterday, but Milan are pushing for further tests which have begun this morning.

Boniface landed at Linate Airport at 2:49 PM and arrived at the hospital for the standard medical checks at approximately 3:20 PM. At 5:00 PM, he transferred to the Centro Ambrosiano to obtain his sports fitness certificate with everything going seemingly normal.

AC Milan, however, subjected him to new medical tests at the Galeazzi Hospital, specializing in orthopedics, with a trusted orthopedist from the club, brought back from vacation for the occasion.

The one-time Bundesliga winner was released around 8:30 PM last night but a fourth round of tests will be necessary, scheduled for this morning.

The report stated that these tests were not pre-planned, but came into play after the realization of the previous injury records of the Super Eagles star.

With a final verdict set to be given by the doctors today, the former Union Saint-Gilloise striker is left holding his breath. A negative result means he’ll return to Germany to continue his football with Leverkusen.
