Will Etiosa Ighodaro eventually wear the Kaizer Chiefs jersey? Amakhosi remain close to signing the 24-year-old striker after six goals in 24 games on loan at AmaZulu FC last term.

Since joining Sundowns from Benin City College in 2021, the Kaizer Chiefs target has scored 25 goals in various loan spells at AmaTuks, Chippa United, SuperSport United and Usuthu.

Stats by club:

  • University of Pretoria: Zero goals in four matches
  • Chippa United: 11 goals in 27 matches
  • SuperSport United: Eight goals in 34 matches
  • AmaZulu: Six goals in 27 matches.

He added: “The player—or another striker on our list—will be welcomed. But we must wait for the administrative side of things to be sorted before anything is finalised,” Nabi concluded.

In the meantime, Kaizer Chiefs kick off the season away to Stellenbosch FC at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday at 17:30.
