Oniosun, who was a guest on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief programme on Friday, said egusi was chosen over other Nigerian soup ingredients because of its cultural symbolism and national acceptance.
By 4pm Nigerian time on Friday, August 1, 2025, egusi seeds will become the first Nigerian object in orbit, launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket for NASA’s Crew-11 mission to the ISS.
