Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool in a deal worth up to €75 million, making the Colombian winger one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

The 28-year-old former Porto winger has signed a contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2029, becoming the third-highest transfer in Bayern’s history after Harry Kane (€95m) and Lucas Hernandez (€80m).

“It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern,” Díaz said on the club’s official website. “They’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. My goal is to win every possible title, and that’s what we’ll work for every day as a team.”

Díaz’s arrival comes at a crucial time for Bayern, with Jamal Musiala sidelined long-term due to a broken leg and veteran forward Thomas Müller leaving the club.

Fellow winger Leroy Sané also departed for Galatasaray earlier this summer, prompting the need for elite attacking reinforcements.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund hailed the signing.

“Luis creates real goal threat, is quick, versatile, and brings an intense style of play. His
experience with Liverpool and Colombia makes him a complete package who will excite our fans.”

Díaz joins Bayern after a successful three-and-a-half-year spell at Anfield, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.

Last season, he made 50 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists, playing a key role in Arne Slot’s title-winning squad. He was Liverpool’s second-highest goalscorer in the league behind Mohamed Salah with 13 goals.

In an emotional farewell post on Instagram, Díaz expressed gratitude to Liverpool and paid tribute to his late teammate Diogo Jota.

“I will treasure forever my time at Liverpool. I carry everyone with me in my heart, but one of them in particular: Diogo. I will never forget him. We will never forget him. Thank you for everything.”
