Corinthians will be aiming to snap their winless streak as they host Bragantino in this weekend’s Brasileiro Serie A fixture.

The home side have gone three consecutive league games without a win, while Massa Bruta will be looking to bounce back strongly after a lacklustre performance in their last outing.

Corinthians

A storied name in Brazilian football, Corinthians experienced a golden period between 1990 and 2017, during which they secured numerous honours, including seven Brasileiro championships.

Since their last league title eight years ago, however, Timao have struggled to replicate that success, managing just two Copa Libertadores qualifications and settling for Copa Sudamericana spots in the other seasons.

This year, Dorival Junior’s side have yet to find real consistency, recording four wins, four draws, and four losses from their 12 league outings, placing them 10th in the standings with 16 points.

Their attacking output has been underwhelming, with only 13 goals scored so far in Serie A, and they have failed to score more than once in each of their last five games. Defensively, they’ve conceded 15 goals in the league during the 2025 campaign.

Their most recent match ended in a 1-1 draw away to Gremio, the third consecutive stalemate in the league for the Sao Paulo outfit. However, they’ll take encouragement from their home form, having won four of their six league matches at Neo Química Arena.

Still, recent meetings with Bragantino offer less confidence — Corinthians have failed to win any of their last three encounters against them, all played at their home ground.

Team News

The hosts will be without Gustavo Henrique (hernia), Raniele (thigh), and Yuri Alberto due to injury, while suspensions will keep midfielder Breno Bidon and defender Andre Ramalho Silva out after both received their third yellow cards of the season against Gremio.

Bragantino

The visitors head into the clash with their momentum disrupted, following a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Bahia — a result that brought a sudden halt to their three-match winning streak across all competitions.

Despite that loss, Bragantino’s progress this season is evident compared to last year, when they narrowly escaped relegation by finishing 16th, just two points above the drop zone.

Under Fernando Seabra, the team has emerged as an early title contender, collecting 23 points from seven wins, two draws, and three losses to sit third in the standings—only one point behind the leaders.

While not particularly prolific in front of goal, with just 14 goals scored, Bragantino have found success through determination and defensive structure. Five of their seven victories have come by 1-0 scorelines, and notably, they have only won once in a match where they conceded.

That trend points to a continued reliance on defensive resilience for a positive result this weekend. Their away form offers encouragement as well, with three wins from five road matches in the league (D1, L1), suggesting Braga could present a stern challenge in Sao Paulo.

Team News

However, Bragantino will be without key right-back Jose Hurtado, who is suspended after receiving a straight red card in the defeat to Bahia.

In addition, they face several injury setbacks. Fabricio, Henry Mosquera, and Juninho Capixaba are all sidelined with thigh injuries, while forward Fernando remains unavailable due to a knee problem.

Conclusion

Given Corinthians’ solid home record and Bragantino’s resilience on the road, a low-scoring draw appears to be the most likely result in what is shaping up to be a closely fought encounter.
