Competition: USL

Market: Pittsburgh win

Odds: 11/10 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their purple patch this weekend, Pittsburgh will welcome Loudoun to the Highmark Stadium on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Pittsburgh might have opened up the 2025 campaign in the midst of a real struggle, the Riverhounds have come roaring back in some style. Last seen putting in another gritty performance as they claimed a 1-0 victory at home against New Mexico, Bob Lilley’s men have come skyrocketing up the Eastern Conference standings. Signing off June with another 1-0 win against Westchester while in USL Cup action, the Pennsylvania-based outfit will be looking to extend on their recent purple patch here. Likewise, including a 2-1 win against Tampa Bay last month, the one-time Vancouver boss has seen his squad win four of their previous five appearances across all competitions. It should also be highlighted, Pittsburgh have suffered just a single USL defeat since the middle of May. Winning all of their last four straight showdowns at the Highmark Stadium by an aggregate score of 6-1, Lilley’s side could be smelling a potential opportunity.

As for the visitors, while Loudoun might open this weekend’s fixtures sat in bronze medal position, Ryan Martin’s men have drastically failed to find any kind of recent stability. Eventually forced to settle for a toothless 0-0 stalemate at home against Orange County last time out, the Virginia-based outfit have mustered just a sole win from any of their previous six USL appearances – a rut that stems back to May 10th. With their recent struggles underlined by a 4-1 drumming against Louisville on June 25th, they have also notched just a sole USL strike in over 300 minutes of action. Pencilled in as an underdog contender when they travel to Pennsylvania this weekend, Loudoun have gained a reputation for their glaring issues on the road. Last seen on theirir travels falling to a routine 3-0 drumming against Hartford Athletic, Martin’s side have lost their previous three straight matchups away from Segra Field by an aggregate score of 6-1.
