Feb. 26 (UPI) — Actual Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will miss the primary leg of a Copa del Rey semifinal towards Actual Sociedad on Wednesday after having a tooth eliminated.

Madrid didn’t embody Mbappe on the 21-play squad introduced Wednesday morning. They are going to play Actual Sociedad at 3:30 p.m. EST Wednesday in San Sebastian, Spain.

Mbappe’s omission from the squad got here a day after coach Carlo Ancelotti mentioned Mbappe would journey and have “the prospect to play.”

“He had an issue together with his tooth, he could not prepare [Tuesday], however he’ll journey [Wednesday], and everybody who travels has the prospect to play,” Ancelotti mentioned.

Mbappe totaled 14 objectives thus far in 2025 and 17 in 23 La Liga matches. Madrid additionally left goalie Thibaut Courtois and midfielder Federico Valverde off their roster for the first-leg of the Copa del Rey assembly.

Madrid will face Actual Betis in a La Liga matchup at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Seville, Spain. It’ll host Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in Madrid.

Madrid and Actual Sociedad will meet within the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals April 1 in Madrid.
