A violent conflict between troopers and unlawful miners, referred to as “galamseyers,” occurred on the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine in Ghana’s Ashanti Area on January 18, 2025. The tragic incident resulted in a minimum of 10 individuals dropping their lives and one soldier being injured.
