President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has conveyed his heartfelt condolences following the devastating fireplace that ravaged Kantamanto Market in Accra on Thursday, January 2, 2024. The blaze, which started at daybreak, left over 30,000 merchants displaced and precipitated important losses.
Throughout his remaining State of the Nation Handle on Friday, January 3, 2024, the President expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy. “I’m deeply saddened by the devastating fireplace at Kantamanto Market yesterday, which has left many merchants and their livelihoods in ruins.
