Information

Afia Pokua, a journalist at Agoo TV, discovered herself on the middle of an issue after she overtly criticised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his perceived silence amid ongoing conflicts between Ashantis and different tribes.

Talking on Onua FM’s ‘Bribi Gye Gye wo,’ hosted by Mona Gucci, Pokua expressed her frustration, calling out what she sees as Ashantis asserting superiority over different tribes and the Asantehene’s failure to deal with it.

She obtained intense backlash following her current go to to the Manhyia Palace, the place she tried to apologise for earlier remarks that had been seen as disrespectful to the Asantehene.

Nonetheless, her apology was rejected, and he or she was requested to go away, with directions to not return. Even the help of elders who advocated for her was not sufficient to persuade the Otumfuo’s consultant to forgive her.

In a tragic publish following the rejection of her apology, Afia Pokua wrote, “Let Ghana and Ghanaians have a good time once they hear about my passing, as I’ve dedicated an unforgivable crime. I perceive if I’m to be buried alive for the satisfaction of Ghanaian residents.” These phrases mirror the emotional toll she felt from the continual criticism, regardless of her efforts to make amends.
