Ghanaian gospel musician and pastor Sonnie Badu has expressed disappointment over the neglect he confronted from his fellow gospel artists following a extreme harm in December 2023.
Talking in a current interview with Pleasure Prime, Badu revealed that none of his colleagues within the gospel fraternity checked on him throughout his restoration. “Not even a single one checked up on me. After I realized that not a single gospel artist colleague or pastor would inspect me, that’s after I mentioned, even when I died, no person cares; I’ve to stand up rapidly,” he shared.
He mirrored on how he would have responded otherwise, noting that he would have reached out to others in an analogous scenario, no matter whether or not they have been shut or not. “Personally, if I heard that any person had gone by one thing, I might have been calling. I don’t care whether or not I’m cool with you or not. However not even one particular person did,” he added.
Whereas his gospel colleagues have been absent, just a few pastors, reminiscent of Nigerian Pastor Jerry Eze and Prophet Agyemang Prempeh, amongst others confirmed concern by reaching out to him on social media.
The incident that led to his harm occurred whereas he was at residence cleansing and watering his backyard. He came across the steps between his backyard and metallic railings, resulting in a severe harm that required surgical procedure. His resolution to carry out sparked hypothesis on social media, with some claiming that the harm was exaggerated for publicity. Nevertheless, Badu dismissed these accusations, stating that he understands such reactions as a part of Ghanaian tradition and harbors no unwell emotions towards those that doubted him.
